Why reclaimed pine?
We make our reclaimed pine flooring from beams and timbers salvaged from old buildings. This older timber was grown more slowly than modern wood, resulting in tight-grained pine floorboards which are more hardwearing and long-lasting.
Reclaimed pine floorboards are ideal for period properties, particularly if you’re trying to match or replace Victorian pine floorboards or Edwardian pine flooring. It’s full of character, with knots, nail holes and cracks, in-keeping with older houses requiring a more traditional look.
Our reclaimed pine flooring also boasts a beautiful mix of colours - pinks, greys and yellows!
Tongue & groove or straight edge?
A tongue and groove edging helps to line floorboards up when laying your flooring and prevents draughts due to the snug fit. As the boards are interconnected, it also strengthens the finished flooring.
Straight edge floorboards are a little quicker to install and can be retrofitted more easily than tongue and groove flooring.
