87mm Scandinavian Redwood Pine Flooring

This is our narrow 87mm (approx. 3.5") Scandinavian redwood pine floorboard – classic strip flooring in the same high-quality kiln-dried solid pine we offer in wider sizes, listed here as a single width for simpler ordering.

These boards are made from prime-grade Scandinavian redwood sideboards. Sideboards are denser and more stable than heartwood, helping to reduce cupping and movement once the floor is installed.

Product Details

  • Width: 87mm (approx. 3.5") ± 2mm
  • Thickness: 20mm
  • Grade: Prime Scandinavian redwood (sideboards)
  • Edge options: Tongue & groove or straight edge
  • Lengths: Random lengths typically 2–5 metres
  • Surface: Planed smooth and flat (light sanding recommended after installation)
  • Character: Natural mix of grain patterns and knots

Why Choose the 87mm Width?

The 87mm width is traditional strip flooring. It creates a finer, more detailed joint pattern that suits smaller rooms, hallways, and period-style interiors. It also works well where you want a classic proportion rather than a wide-plank look.

Same Product, Different Width

This is the identical timber and manufacturing standard as our other Scandinavian redwood pine boards (including 95mm, 137mm and 162mm). The only difference is the board width. You get the same kiln-dried sideboard construction, the same stability benefits, and the same attractive Scandinavian redwood character.

Scandinavian redwood (also known as Scots pine or Nordic pine) is a strong, versatile and cost-effective solid wood. It accepts stains, oils and paints extremely well.

Reclaimed pitch pine used to make wooden flooring

Why redwood pine?

Scandinavian redwood, also known as Scots pine, is a very affordable solid wood flooring option. It has a lovely grain pattern and, as a lighter-coloured wood, it’s highly versatile, taking a wide variety of stain colours.

Alternatively, if you’re planning on painting your flooring or laying it as a subfloor, redwood pine floorboards are a cost-effective solution.

Machine used for tongue and groove flooring

Tongue & groove or straight edge?

A tongue and groove edging helps to line floorboards up when laying your flooring and prevents draughts due to the snug fit. As the boards are interconnected, it also strengthens the finished flooring.

Straight edge floorboards are a little quicker to install and can be retrofitted more easily than tongue and groove flooring.
