Recently, we bought two new cutter blocks for our planer-moulder, which will allow us to add extra features to our solid wood flooring.
We’re now adding a tapered edge to the tongue in our tongue and groove flooring, meaning our pine floorboards and oak floorboards will be that bit easier to slot together during installation.
The new blocks also add extra spacing around the tongue and groove for further ease of fitting and to help with movement in the flooring over time.
We also have a new v-groove feature which we’ll be applying to cladding when we start manufacturing that.
We’re always trying to make improvements to our pine flooring and pitch pine flooring, and to our process and workshop in general, so we’re really happy with these new cutter blocks and the improved finish they give to our wood flooring.
The new tooling produces a much smarter and easy to fit pitch pine floorboard. Although the cost is high the benefits for the flooring installer is worth it.
