The new cutter blocks we’ve installed in our planer-moulder have a number of features that we’re now adding to our pine flooring and oak flooring.
One of those features is extra spacing on the underside of each floorboard. Having a little more room on the underside of the fit helps with movement in solid wood flooring over time. Any shifting can be accommodated at the bottom of the boards, instead of affecting the finished surface.
