The Benefits of Straight Edge Flooring

The Benefits of Straight Edge Flooring

In contrast to tongue and groove flooring, which features a tongue down one side of the floorboard and a groove down the other, straight edge flooring has exactly that - straight edges! It’s a good choice for older properties in particular, if a more traditional look and fit is desired.

As with tongue and groove wood flooring, straight edge floorboards can be nailed or glued down but they’re a little quicker to install. They can also be retrofitted more easily.

However, the main reason people tend to choose this flooring type is because they simply prefer solid wood flooring with traditional gaps between the floorboards.

Whichever type of floorboard edge you prefer, we offer both options on all of our oak flooring and pine flooring:

European Oak Flooring

Red Oak Flooring

Scandinavian Redwood Pine Flooring

Reclaimed Pitch Pine Flooring
