We are in the process of investing in machinery and tooling to enable us to manufacture our own skirting board tooling. This means we can provide lovely pitch pine skirting boards along side our pitch pine flooring. IF you want unpainted skirting boards this is a really nice option to finish off any pitch pine floor.
The process of grinding your own profile knives is fairly involved and requires a special machine to do so. Once this is installed and setup we will be learning the process and creating classic skirting board designs along with the ability to replicate existing designs from samples or drawings.
Period houses often have intricate mouldings which are no longer sold by the big timber outlets. If you are looking to have an existing moulding replicated please get in touch and we will create an exact copy for you. It is the same process for creating skirting board profiles as it is dado rails, architraves, cornices and picture rails.
We can provide all our mouldings in various timbers from pitch pine to pine or tulip wood. Just ask if you can’t find what you are looking for.
Hopefully we can ensure that period mouldings keep being manufactured in Great Britain and slow down the influx of MDF or polyurethane mouldings.
